Luxe Outdoor Minipeak II 2 Person Tent
It has had a few modifications and updates made to the previous model. These include a half nylon inner, rather than the full mesh on 2014 model. Reinforced cap area where pole support rests. Longer corner guy tabs for greater adjustment. The pegs supplied are now longer 6" pegs compared to the previous 4". A tube of seam sealing is included, the use of which is optional.
Somehow it feels slightly larger than the past model and I find that at 6'2" there was enough room for a sleeping mat without any material touching my face. The half nylon inner is a great improvement cutting down the drafts which creep under the perimeter. The other major improvement is the length of the corner tabs being long enough to hook over a peg and offer decent adjustment, to cater for any undulation in the ground.
The double doors are very popular for those wanting more ventilation on hot days and nights. However the door zip still opens from the floor only. All the tabs generally have been updated and there's a more positive feel to the whole unit.
The shelter has a central external tab at the peak to allow it to be pitched from a tree or horizontal rope.

Please note that the ideal pole for this shelter is the Luxe 163X pole.
Top Top: To prevent the pole from sinking which makes the shelter lose tension and also to protect the upper material, we suggest cutting a tennis ball in half and placing each half at either end of the pole. Or consider our Pole Mushrooms which do the same job. It works a treat!
Assembly Instructions
Lay the flysheet on the ground and form it into a square shape. Then stake 4 points on each corners to maintain the balance setting force.
Assemble the hiking pole in 137-140cm (not included) and insert the pole inside the flysheet and erect to set up the while tent.
Stake 2 side walls to enhance the setting.
Put Inner tent inside by hanging the S-hook on top.

Top tips for a stable shelter in all weathers
If the supporting pole sinks at any stage the material will lose all the tension and the tent can become unstable in high winds, with the possibility of the pole moving. The common tip here is to cut a tennis ball in half and use each half at either end of the pole. It prevents the pole from sinking and also reduces the pressure on the peak. Once this is in place, applying tension on all the surrounding guys will maintain tension throughout the night. Some use Marmite caps or Rebar Mushrooms.
In excessive wet weather we have had occasional reports of the supplied guys slipping in the cleats. A simple overhand knot will stop this. -
Seam sealing the tent
As the silicone tents are designed without seam taping, we recommend user to apply seam sealing on the outside seam of flysheet where necessary (Mainly around the crown area). Along the horizontal stitching around the vent. Down the zip and 'inside' the guy loops and top loop. (Pull apart with your fingers) Anywhere water can gather is a potential point of issue if the tent will be subjected to prolonged rainfall or a persistently wet environment.
