It has to be one of the most frustrating thing on the hills, to carry a cold metallic flask in your hand, which never holds 'enough', and weighs much more 'empty' than you want it to. Until now that is!
We have made a special order for a few boxes of these little beauties from the US, and are introducing them to the appreciative UK audience who have been looking for a solution to that particular problem.
Capacity 350ml, and it has 50ml markers on the side of the bottle. Which is useful for fairness of course!
The bottle is made up of three parts. A lightweight bottle and (standard Nalgene thread) screw cap weight 53g. A plastic 30ml shot glass, weight 8g and the thicker blue outer casing at 60g, to add extra protection should you need it.
Of course, there's the obvious liquid use for this. However some people have suggested also using it for Meths, as it will store easier in the pack. (Yes we were horrified also!)
Its Hydration at its hippest ;-))
* Contains 12 ounces (350 ml)
* Features one-ounce (30ml) cap
* Fits easily into bags and packs
* Provides long-term storage solutions
* Includes durable insulation sleeve
* Prevents plastic taste and odor
Weight: Bottle 53g + Shot Glass 8g + Cover 60g = 121g
How does it compare to the Lexan Flask?
Capacity
Nalgene 12 fl oz - Lexan 10 fl oz
Weight
Nalgene 121g - Lexan 116g
Dimensions
Nalgene 200mm x 100mm - Lexan 180mm x 95mm
Main features
Nalgene - Bottle, cap, shot glass, insulating sleeve, 50ml measure markers - Clear, blue sleeve, blue cap
Lexan - Bottle and cap - Clear and black cap
Conclusion: They both sit very well in the hand and slide into the pack perfectly. Hard to make a choice apart from this one holding more ;-))
